The Mountain Grove congregation is a conservative bible-
believing group of Christians who loves the Lord and their
neighbors as themselves. We love to sing and worship
together, and we strive to give witness for Christ in the
community and the surrounding area as well. Several of our
Sunday school classes, along with the Men’s and the Women’
s fellowships are active doing visitations, outreach projects,
and numerous other ministries within the community.

The church is nestled among rolling hills that lie
between the Little North Mountain and the
Shenandoah Mountain in the Western section of
Virginia. Its setting is picturesque, with the
mountains and hills in the background, and a
pictorial scene of farmland surrounding the church. It
is not at all rare to see whitetail deer grazing as one
is coming to church or leaving to go home.

We believe the bible is “the inspired word of God” and that it is literal in its teaching. We believe
Jesus is the only way to heaven, and that he is the “Way the truth and the light,” without whom no one
can be saved or receive eternal life. We believe Jesus is the only begotten son of God; that he was
born of a virgin; that he walked upon the earth performing miracles and teaching about the kingdom of
heaven, and he was crucified on the cross where he died. We believe they lay Jesus in the tomb, and
on the third day, he arose from the dead, after which he was saw by many. We believe forty days after
he arose from the dead, Jesus ascended back to heaven where he now sits at the right of the Father
interceding for us
At Mountain Grove, we strive to preach, teach and live the pure, unadulterated truth of God’s word.
We strive to practice what we preach, and teach what we practice. We believe Jesus is going to
return one day, and our desire is to be ready to go with him when he does. We actively strive to fulfill
our part of the “Great Commission.”
Matthew 28: 19-20 (KJV).
Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
